Blephilia hirsuta, also known as Hairy Wood Mint, named for its mint scented leaves prefers moist, shady, woodland areas. Its flowers are packed tightly into clusters stacked vertically on lightly branching stems that reach up to 3’. These flowers can be either a light blue, a pale purple, or a white with purple spots.
It blooms in the summer and will continue for around six weeks under the right conditions. Hairy Wood Mint has fibrous roots that spread by rhizomes to form dense colonies rather than spreading aggressively.
